At Fight Club Cancer Support Network, our team is passionate about supporting cancer fighters on their unique journeys. We believe in personalized care, and our experts work closely with each individual to craft tailored support systems that best meet their needs.

In 2013 Chris' sister, Terri Wheelhouse Hovey, passed away from cervical cancer at the age of 39. 4 years later in 2017, Chris received his own cancer diagnosis - stage 4 prostate cancer at the age of 46. Navigating his cancer journey without a trusted partner allowed him to experience the gaps in the healthcare system and exposed him to the danger in the lack of care coordination across his many providers, insurance companies, and community resources. This experience led him to build Fight Club Cancer Support Network.
Chris is a lifelong resident of Kansas City, who has made a corporate career of helping others define their goals, create a team, then identify the steps to accomplish those goals. He has found success because of his natural curiosity, his interest in problem solving, and his ability to help others get organized. Through all of this, though, the thing that makes any of it possible is his love of people.

Sherri Harmon brings decades of experience in care coordination, case management, and community collaboration across the Kansas City metro. She spent many years working in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and local agencies to ensure continuity of care for individuals and families in need. Sherri also served at St. Luke’s Shawnee Mission Northland Hospital in the mental health unit and worked with Tri-County Mental Health, the former administrative agent for Ray, Platte and Clay Counties.
After retiring, Sherri became even more aware of the challenges families face while helping her own parents navigate complex medical and insurance systems. Through her work with Fight Club KC, she is passionate about helping people diagnosed with cancer identify unmet needs, access resources, and feel empowered to ask for the support they deserve.

Emily connects cancer fighters with essential local resources and support groups.
